Panacea and ATC Nuevo Laredo Launch PASO to Help Mexican Truck Drivers Prepare for U.S. Operations

Nuevo Laredo, Mexico — Panacea, in collaboration with the Asociación de Transportistas de Carga de Nuevo Laredo (ATC), has launched PASO, an innovative English-language training platform designed specifically for Mexican commercial truck drivers operating across the U.S.–Mexico border.

PASO addresses a very specific challenge facing the cross-border transportation industry: commercial drivers need practical English skills to communicate effectively during their operations in the United States.

Rather than offering traditional English instruction, PASO focuses on the situations drivers actually encounter on the job—from border crossings and roadside inspections to interactions with law enforcement, customers, warehouses, and other transportation professionals.

Built for the Reality of Cross-Border Trucking

PASO was developed around the daily realities of Mexican commercial drivers.

The platform allows drivers to turn waiting time at terminals, yards, warehouses, and border crossings into opportunities to improve their English. Training can be completed from a mobile device, allowing drivers to learn when their schedules permit.

PASO combines logistics-specific English instruction with artificial intelligence and voice-based practice, giving drivers an opportunity to practice speaking and prepare for real-world conversations before encountering them on the road.

The objective is practical: help drivers become more confident and better prepared to communicate during their U.S. operations.

Technology Developed Together with the Industry

The collaboration with ATC Nuevo Laredo was an important part of bringing PASO to the transportation community.

Nuevo Laredo is at the center of U.S.–Mexico cross-border trucking, making the experience and participation of the local transportation industry critical to developing solutions that reflect the realities drivers and carriers face every day.

PASO demonstrates what can happen when technology companies and industry associations work together to solve clearly defined operational challenges.

For Panacea, this approach extends beyond PASO. We believe technology has the greatest impact when it begins with a real industry problem, incorporates the experience of the people who understand that problem, and then applies the appropriate technology to solve it.

From Nuevo Laredo to the Cross-Border Transportation Industry

PASO was created with the U.S.–Mexico transportation environment in mind, but the opportunity extends beyond a single border city.

Thousands of Mexican commercial drivers operate equipment moving freight between Mexico and the United States. As cross-border trade continues to grow, communication skills remain an important part of preparing drivers for the operational requirements they encounter north of the border.

The launch with ATC Nuevo Laredo represents an important first step toward making specialized, technology-enabled English training more accessible to carriers and their drivers.
